A stage IV Thyroid Cancer Survivor, Hope came to her mat shortly after a complete thyroidectomy in 2000.  Wanting to clear her mind and cleanse her body of heavy duty radiation she soon began to experience some miraculous changes as her body began to unlock, rejuvenate and develop new strength.  She never anticipated that through her yoga practice she would lose 60 pounds. Even more surprising was that she regained full range of motion 2 decades after a childhood injury that left her with chronic shoulder dislocation.
Yoga became a way of life as she found joy and learned to release stress, emotional and physical pain.  Yoga also became her passion.  In 2004 she realized that she needed to teach in order to share these healing gifts.  Hope believes embracing self -awareness in one’s practice, is balancing challenge with the wisdom of maintaining compassion for our own body by honoring and respecting our individual limits.
Giving students permission to be anatomically imperfect, teaches them how to work with their body and to accept it right where it is, remembering that moments change with every breath. Working with students to develop body awareness and patience and then modifying the practice so that it serves the individual student allows them to progress because the focus is on feeling and allowing growth and opening rather than forcing the body.
Hope offers specific tailored sequencing that focuses on an individual’s personal needs and goals, modifying for each student in class.  Her style encompasses a compassionate, therapeutic approach with overall toning, core building, energizing, feel- good stretching delivering a relaxing, purposeful outcome, allowing you to gently yet effectively work with challenge and enjoy safe, healing, self-exploration on your inward journey to overall well- being.
